To say the summer trip to Malta and Zortman was action packed would be an understatement. We were so lucky and blessed to spend so much time with our family and friends in Montana. We started the trip out in Zortman for a family reunion and Colleen's 50th birthday. On Friday we celebrated the cousins' (Remi, Belle, and Makena) birthdays. It was full party complete with cake, games, and a pinata. The next day we got ready for the big 50th birthday party and had over 50 people at the cabin for Colleen's birthday. It was a true testament to how wonderful a person she is and how much she is loved. We had a great time with steaks, Rocky Mountain hot dogs, a lot of salads, and of course Kathy Sals birthday cake! Colleen opened presents and we took family pictures. The next day we went on two hikes...well some of us did both. The morning hike was an "Uncle Brent Hike" and I found out real quickly what that meant. Leave early...no trail...up the steepest hills...sweat a lot...but all worth it for breathtaking views! In the afternoon we hiked to see a view of the little town of Zortman...it is like going back in time with the one town store, bar, and little white church. We love it there. I was so happy that I got to experience a Clausen family Zortman weekend. It is where Colleen and her four siblings grew up. The weekend was full of love, activities, and lots of food! On Monday it was 0n to Malta. There we had lots of time to lay in the sun...shop at Family Matters...play with Makena and Macyn...go to a play at Fort Peck...eat Dairy Queen...and have a family and friends bbque. We were sad to leave all of the fun but will be back for Thanksgiving!
